Mark your calendars for the Ladies' Getaway 2012 - March 2-3.
The Getaway starts at 4:30 PM Friday and lasts till 3:30 PM Saturday.
Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
The apostle Paul tells us to transform our lives by renewing our minds. When one puts on Christ in baptism, she begins the work of transforming her life to reflect the image of her Lord. Whatever her role or function - daughter, wife, mother, sister, employee, co-worker, student, roommate, whatever - her life now makes a new statement to others. The old life is gone; she is a new creation. Simply to mimic another sister's style and behavior is not enough. She must be changed inside by letting her mind be made new again.
Please join sisters in Christ for a Friday night and Saturday time of Bible study, singing and fellowship. Topics for study include marriage, parenthood, teen life, prayer, and the books of Esther and Philippians.
Note: While the Getaway is planned each year by ladies from the Lafayette Church of Christ, all funding for the Getaway is acquired solely from registration fees.
